Adobe Lightroom 3 - Paris The Louvre Color

This is a really good example of using Lightroom to add color where there is virtually none. I used a combination of color temperature, split tones, and saturation to pull this image into shape.

Lightroom Tutorial: A few quick notes for those that are interested:
- I used the color temperature controls to warm up the image
- I increased the vibrancy but reduced the overall saturation
- I used a gradient filter on the top part of the image to bring the sky color back into the image
- To finish I warmed up both the hightlights and shadows to give it a more vintage feel

Adobe Lightroom 3 - Color Tutorial

Lightroom Tutorial: A few quick notes for those that are interested:
- I increased the exposure to brighten the image
- I increased the Vibrancy but reduced the overall saturation
- In this image the yellows became overpowering, because of this I desaturated the yellows
- After the yellows were desaturated I recolored the highlights with a lighter yellow to bring back the warmth

Adobe Lightroom 3 - The perfect New Zealand beach

To achieve this image I did a number of things in Adobe Lightroom 3:
• I lightened the whole image
• I used a gradient filter to recolor the sky
• The foreground has been desaturated
• The figure and post have been sharpened
The image works at a number of levels but relies heavily on the limited use of color and simple composition. The horizontal horizon line and water ripples add a calm feeling to the composition.
